Traviata Enterprises ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Davida mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo via Google OAuth. We do not store your Google password.
Calendar Data
With your permission, we access your Google Calendar to read, create, modify, and delete events on your behalf. Calendar data is processed on your device and via secure API calls to Google. We do not store your calendar events on our servers.
Voice and Text Input
When you use voice or text input, your audio is transcribed using OpenAI's Whisper API and the resulting text is processed by OpenAI's language models to extract tasks and events. Audio is not retained after transcription.
Camera and Photo Library
With your permission, the App can capture photos or access your photo library for the purpose of extracting tasks and deadlines from documents (e.g., syllabi, assignment sheets). Images are processed via OpenAI's vision API and are not retained on our servers after processing.
Accountability Partner Contact Information
If you enable the Accountability Partner feature, you may provide phone numbers of trusted individuals to receive task summaries. These contacts are stored locally on your device. Messages are sent via Twilio's SMS service.
Notifications
With your permission, the App schedules local notifications on your device for task reminders. These notifications are not transmitted to our servers.
Usage Data
We do not collect analytics or usage data in the current version of the App.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide core App functionality (task management, scheduling, reminders)
- To process voice and image inputs into structured task data
- To send SMS summaries to your designated accountability partners (only with your explicit setup)
- To improve and maintain the App
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google (OAuth, Calendar API):for sign-in and calendar integration. See Google's privacy policy.
- OpenAI (GPT-4o, Whisper, Vision):for AI-powered task parsing, transcription, and document analysis. See OpenAI's API privacy policy. OpenAI does not use API data to train models.
- Twilio: for SMS delivery to accountability partner contacts.
- Apple / Google Play: for app distribution and in-app purchases (when applicable).
Data Storage and Security
- Most of your data (preferences, tags, task history, partner contacts) is stored locally on your device using encrypted device storage.
- Calendar events live in your Google account, not on our servers.
- We do not maintain a backend database of user information for the core App functionality.
Children's Privacy
Davida is designed for college students (18+) and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your Rights
You may:
- Revoke Google Calendar access at any time via your Google Account settings
- Delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the App
- Remove accountability partner contacts via the App's Settings
- Disable notifications via your device's system settings
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the App or via email.
